Lehigh Leads Spartans to Senior Day Sweep

YORK, PA – The York College men's tennis team celebrated their 2018 senior day with a 9-0 Capital Athletic Conference win over Frostburg State University on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in York.

The Spartans celebrated senior Devin Lehigh during the match as he is York's lone senior in 2018.

York improves to 8-9 overall and are now 3-4 in the CAC. The Bobcats conclude their campaign with a record of 3-11 overall and 0-7 in the CAC.

The Green and White kicked off the match by sweeping the three doubles matches. Sam Innerst and Lehigh recorded an 8-2 first doubles win. Ben Sentz and Sam Price teamed up to blank Derek Thompson and Geoffrey Goldring 8-0 in the second doubles match up. Justin Rose and Tyler Richard combined to earn an 8-4 win in the third doubles match.

Sentz opened singles play with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Shasta Braithwaite in the first singles match. Innerst earned a 6-0, 6-0 second singles win over the Bobcats' Nate Farlow. Lehigh celebrated his final home match with 6-1, 6-0 win over Justin Davis in the third singles match up.

Lukas Olson earned a fourth single win over Geoffrey Goldring as he beat the Bobcat 6-1, 6-2. Joel Hess picked up a 6-1, 6-4 fifth singles victory over David Kramer. Price completed the perfect day for the Spartans as he defeated Chad O'Neal 6-0, 6-2 in the sixth singles match for the sweep.

The Spartans will be the fifth seed in the upcoming CAC tournament and will likely travel to Southern Virginia next Saturday in the opening round of the conference tournament. The tournament bracket will be released early next week.
