Spartan Men Finish Ninth at Franklin & Marshall Invitational

LANCASTER, PA – The York College men's swim team finished ninth of ten teams at the highly competitive F&M Invitational this weekend in Lancaster, PA.

York finished with 538.5 points as they were less than 50 points out of a top seven finish. Franklin & Marshall won the men's title with 1,490 points. Mary Washington finished second followed by Mount Saint Mary's, Washington & Lee and Nazareth.

Junior Jake Halem had a great weekend with a pair of top five finishes for the Green and White. Halem was second in the 100 IM on Sunday, posting a time of 53.31 as he was just .08 seconds back of F&M's Alec Dibattista who won the event. Halem placed fourth in the 100 fly, as he touched the wall in a time of 50.84.

Senior Greg Williams notched a sixth-place finish in the 200 back, recording a time of 1:58.79.

Senior Michael Federline earned York's other top eight finish as he placed seventh in the 100 IM, posting a time of 1:58.79.

The Spartans are now off until Friday, January 17 when they travel to Washington (Md.) for a non-conference match up. The meet in Chestertown is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm.
