Spartan Men's Swimming Opens Home Slate with a Victory

YORK, PA – The York College men's swim squad improved to 2-0 in the Capital Athletic Conference with a 164-79 win over St. Mary's College in the Spartans home opener on Saturday. York improves to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the CAC.

The Spartans picked up ten individual wins with Tanner Russell, Greg Williams, and Aaron Keifer each picking up a pair of wins. Connor McIlroy, Michael Federline, Miles Brown, and Jake Halem each earned an individual victory for the Green and White.

Kevin Tanzosh earned a pair of second place finishes as he was runner up to Tanner in the 1000 free and the 500 free.

Notes:

The Spartans swam the 50 fly, the 100 IM and the 400 free relay as exhibitions as the meet was in hand … Greg Williams now leads the Spartans in individual victories with four while Jake Halem, Connor McIlroy and Aaron Keifer all have three individual wins for the Green and White.

The Spartans head back out on the road as they travel to Frostburg State to face the Bobcats in a non-league match up on Friday evening. The meet is slated for a 6:30 pm start in Frostburg, Maryland.
