YORK, PA - York College junior goalkeeper Billy Bridegum has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
Bridegum led the Spartans to a 2-0 week as he allowed just one goal in 196:44 of play in York's two wins. In the victory over Eastern Mennonite on Friday night, Bridegum registered six saves as he allowed one goal in the Spartans' 2-1 double overtime season-opening win over the Royals.
He followed that with a clean sheet in the 3-0 win over Bridgewater on Saturday afternoon. Bridegum made three saves en route to his sixth career clean sheet.
For the week, Bridegum registered nine saves in 196:44 to earn the two wins. He finished with a 0.46 GAA.
