The Spartans seized the lead in the 14th minute as senior captain Brook Addisu unleashed a rocket from beyond the box that found the upper left 90 for the 1-0 lead.

• The second half featured balanced and physical play as offensive opportunities were few and far between. The Spartans had just one shot on goal in the second half while the Royals had a pair of chances on target as the teams headed to overtime still tied at one.

• York dominated the first overtime as they squeezed off four shots in the period but they couldn't find the winner.
