Ryan Weber enters his 16th season at the helm of the women’s tennis program and his 15th as the head men’s coach for the Spartans.

Weber before taking over both teams, Weber previously served as an assistant to both squads before being named the women's head coach for the 2008 campaign.

In his first season with the women's team, Weber guided a young Spartan squad to a 5-11 mark with a 3-2 record in Capital Athletic Conference play. The Spartans picked up double digit in wins in 2010-11 as the Green and White went 11-7 overall and 5-2 in the CAC as they advanced to the CAC semifinals. Katelyn Acker earned second-team All-CAC for the second straight year while Sarah Wargo joined her on the second team. The duo both earned second-team All-CAC doubles accolades.

The Spartans recorded another year of double digit wins in 2015-16 as York went 10-5 overall. After York went 9-6 in 2016-17, the Spartans went 11-6 the following year. Katie Wagner earned second-team All-CAC honors in 2017 while she was joined by Darian Naill on the second doubles squad. Wagner was a first-team selection in the spring of 2018 for the Spartans.

York went a combined 15-8 over the next two years as the 2020 spring campaign was wiped out by COVID. York they posted a historic year in the spring of 2021 as the Spartans went 11-2 and won the MAC Commonwealth regular season and tournament title. Freshman Elsa Oestermarker was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year while she was joined on the all-conference teams by Michaela Sentz, Lauren Ostermann and Brianna Rohrer. The Spartans advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history as then went 1-1 in the tournament. Weber was named the MAC Commonwealth Coach of the Year for his efforts.

The Spartans went 9-5 in 2021-22 as the Spartans went back to the MAC Commonwealth championship match after going 6-1 in the league. Oestermarker, Ostermann, Rohrer and Morrissey Walsh all earned MAC All-Commonwealth honors.

York set a school record in 2022-23 as they earned 12 wins for the campaign. The Spartans went to their third straight MAC Commonwealth title match as they again went 6-1 in league play. The Spartans are now 18-2 in regular season MAC Commonwealth matches since entering the league. Oestermarker earned her third straight MAC All-Commonwealth first team honors while she was joined on the all-league teams by Rohrer and Walsh.

Weber is 119-111 in his 15 years as the women’s head coach including 53-40 in league play.
 
Weber then took the reins of the men's program beginning in the 2009-2010 academic year. The Spartans went 9-9 in his first year as Ryan Harvey earned second-team All-CAC honors. York then posted its most successful three year run as York went a combined 35-25 including 13 wins in CAC play. Harvey earned his second All-CAC award in 2011.

York posted its most recent double-digit win season in 2014-15 as the Spartans went 11-7 overall and 3-4 in the CAC. The Spartans had a strong start to 2019-2020 as they were 6-1 before COVID wiped out the spring season. The Spartans have notched 12 wins in the last three years including eight league victories.

Sophomore Ben Dorsey and freshman Jason Lutz earned MAC All-Commonwealth honors for the 2022-23 campaign.

In 14 seasons in leading the men, Weber's Spartans are 107-113 overall and 38-48 in the conference play. 
Weber is very familiar with the York College tennis program. He was a four-year player for the Spartans as he accumulated an overall singles record of 33-30 playing primarily in the top three slots of the York lineup. He combined with various teammates to notch a doubles record of 32-22 as he earned 65 victories for his career. Weber was a two-year captain for the Spartans, serving as the team leader during his junior and senior seasons.

Weber began his Spartan coaching career in 2006 as he assisted then-men’s coach Mark Ludwig and then-women's coach Tammy Myers in running their respective programs. He was responsible for running team practices with an emphasis on drills designed to improve specific shots. Weber also helped the Spartans improve with shot selection strategies.

Weber brings additional tennis experience from Wisehaven Tennis Center where he has worked in a number of capacities since 2004. He also has served as a teaching pro at various summer camps conducted throughout the York area since 2005.
