2013-14: Competed in every meet for York, including the CAC Championships ... totaled six individual first place finishes and four first place relay finishes throughout the year ... recorded seven season-best times at the CAC Championships ... earned a second place finish with a time of 1:34.54 in the 200 yard medley relay and a second place finish in the 400 yard relay with a time of 3:11.52 ... contributed to two third place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:26.36 and in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:08.96.

2012-13: Took fourth in the 100 yard freestyle in the season opener at Mary Washington with a 50.83 . . . second place finish in 1000 yard freestyle at the home opener in on Nov. 3 against Marymount, touching the wall in 11:11.83 ... Lead off for the 400 yard freestyle team to a first place finish of 3:21.34 ... Won the 1000 yard freeatyle and 500 yard freestyle in 10:56.18 and 5:13.33, respectively at the Dec 7 tri-meet... Swam a 5:08.10 in the 500 yard freestyle at the CAC Championships ... Went 1:49.54 in the 200 yard freestyle at CAC’s to couple with his 48.19 in the 100 yard freestyle ... took 8^th at CAC’s in the 100 free.

2011-12: Finished the 100 yard backstroke at CAC’s in eighth place with a time of 51.01 . . . also swam 18:13.43 for a 12th place finish in the 1650 yard freestyle at CAC’s . . . came in 10th place in the 200 yard backstroke with a 2:03.04 race at CAC’s as well.

Personal: Is a professional writing major with a minor in biology ... is the son of Vince and Jenny Hughes ... born on April 23, 1993 ... swam for the GNBC Dolphins on the club level ... swam for Tina Welch in high school ... DIAA Third Team All-State in 2010-2011 season ... earned CAC All-Academic honors in 2013 and 2014 ... earned Dean's List honors in the fall of 2013.
