How It Happened:

• The first half was a struggle for both offenses. The Spartans started off ice cold from three coming off a game in which they hit 14-of-28 from distance in the win over Gwynedd Mercy on Tuesday. The game was tied at 11, 6:29 into the game as both teams struggled to convert their offensive opportunities.

• The remainder of the first half would be back and forth with ten total ties and four lead changes during the stanza. York's biggest lead was four points on a pair of Jared Wagner free throws while F&M's biggest advantage was two points. Wagner gave the Spartans a 33-31 lead on a tough lay up with 22 seconds left in the half but Les Thomas was fouled with two seconds remaining on the clock. He sunk both free throws as the teams headed to the intermission tied at 33.

• The second half opened with the teams trading points in the first four possessions as the game as tied at 37 a minute and a half into the stanza. The Spartans then ripped off a 7-0 run as Colin Rimel hit a long jumper and Joe Polczynski followed with a three pointer and a pair of free throws to give York a 44-37 advantage. The Diplomats kept the Spartans in reach as York continued to try to pull away. Zach Novick hit a three pointer with 11:54 left to put York up 11 but the Diplomats trimmed the lead to six on a three pointer from Jaka Pandza. The Spartans answered with a prolonged 11-3 run to take a 65-51 lead with 5:44 left in the game.

• F&M cut the Spartan lead back to nine at 65-56 but the Spartans ended the game on a 13-2 run to close out their 20-point victory. The Spartans limited the Diplomats to just 30.4% shooting from the field in the second half. The Green and White also dominated the Dips on the glass, 23-14, after getting outrebounded 20-16 in the first half. York outscored the Diplomats 26-6 in the paint in the second half while they also had an 11-2 advantage in second chance points. York was 14-for-18 on two pointers in the second half of play.
