GETTYSBURG, PA – The York College men's basketball team improved to 3-0 with an 89-71 road win at Gettysburg on Tuesday night in a non-conference contest. The Green and White are now 3-0 for the second straight year and have now won four straight against Gettysburg.

How It Happened
• The Spartans got off to a quick start as they scored the opening nine points of the game. Jared Wagner had a three and a bucket to get the Spartans going early. The Bullets trimmed York's lead to three at 19-16 with 9:30 left in the half. York then went on a 9-1 run to push the advantage to 11 at 28-17 with 6:06 remaining in the stanza. Gettysburg scored 13 of the next 19 points of the game to cut York's lead to 34-30 with just over a minute left in the half.
• The Spartans got buckets from Darin Gordon and Joey Polczynski to close out the half as York took a 38-30 lead to the break. York shot a chilly 43.8% from the field in the first half while they also committed 11 turnovers to keep the Green and White from having a larger lead.
• The Spartans turned up the defensive pressure to start the second half as they hit the Bullets with a 9-2 run to open the stanza, pushing the lead to 15 just under three minutes into the period. York forced three turnovers in the first 57 seconds of the period which helped fuel the run.
• York's lead grew to a game-high 21 points on a pair of Gordon free throws with 12:42 left in the game. The Bullets went on an 11-3 run to cut the Spartan lead to 13 at 67-54. Freshman Ryan Wheatley drilled a three pointer to halt the run but the Bullets kept shaving into the Spartan lead as they eventually got to within 11 at 76-65 with 5:58 left. That is as close as the Bullets would get the rest of the way as York finished the game on a 13-6 run, providing for York's final 18-point margin of victory.

The Spartans head out to New Jersey on Saturday to participate in the Stockton Tip Off Tournament over the weekend. York faces the host Osprey in the opener on Saturday night at 5:00 pm. The Spartans will then play on Sunday in either the championship or consolation game. Neumann and Farmingdale State will play in the other first round game on Saturday at 7:00 pm.
