How It Happened:

• The Spartans fell behind early as the Lions had the better of the play in the first quarter. The Lions outshot the Spartans 4-0 in the opening 15 minutes. The Lions fired off two shots inside the first 1:10 of the game as Spartan goalie Kaitlyn Wallace registered a pair of saves. On the Lions' third penalty corner of the period, Bailey Lehman took a pass from Mia Moshang and banged home a goal off a corner. The goal was Lehman's team-leading fifth of the game.

• The Green and White was more competitive on the offense end in the second quarter, applying more pressure on the Albright defense. The Spartans fired off six shots in the quarter but Brynne Schoope was up to the task with a trio of saves as Albright took a 1-0 lead to the break.

• Wallace was forced to open the third quarter with a pair of saves as the Lions earned a pair of penalty corners in the first two minutes of the period. The Spartan offense responded by spending the next six minutes pushing deep into Albright's defensive zone. The Spartans eventually earned a penalty corner. The corner was inserted and passed over to Hannah Huffman. Her initial shot was saved and the ball popped up in the air. Junior Dana Meehling batted home the loose ball as the Spartans tied the game at one with 8:12 left in the third quarter.

• York kept the play in their offensive third the remainder of the half as they threw three shots goalward but they came up empty, heading to the fourth deadlocked at one. York outshot the Lions 8-2 in the third quarter while Schoope made four saves in the quarter.

• The Lions wrestled back control of the game to start the fourth. Albright had a pair of corners which result in one blocked shot in the first five minutes of the stanza. With 6:26 left in regulation, Huffman had a good look from the top of the circle off a corner but her shot slid just left of the cage. The Spartans finally broke the tie with 4:47 left as Kristin Varilla hit Meehling in the middle of the circle with a pass. Meehling lofted a shot top shelf to give the Spartans the 2-1 lead.

• Freshman Abby Piotrowski almost made it 3-1 as she had a shot cleared off the line by Marley Berger a minute after Meehling's second goal. The Lions had one last gasp with a minute and a half left in the game as Megan Keller carried the ball into the circle and her shot from the right wing was turned away by Wallace, preserving the Spartan win. The Spartans countered and Albright got a second defensive save, this one from Brooke Yerger to keep the Spartans from adding to the lead.
