Spartans Swept at Messiah

YORK, Pa. - The York College men's tennis team fell 7-0 at Messiah in a Commonwealth contest on Tuesday afternoon.

York: 1-9 (0-2 MACC)
Messiah: 6-6 (2-0 MACC)

How It Happened
The Falcons jumped out a 1-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles matches. Messiah cruised to a 6-1 victory at the top flight, while the Spartans applied resistance at other two flights with a 6-4 loss at No. 2 and a 7-5 defeat at No. 3.

Messiah claimed victory at all six singles matches to complete the clean sweep. Jason Lutz and John Shatinsky claimed the only two set victories for the Spartans on the day. Lutz fell 10-6 in the third set of his match at third flight and Shatinksy surrendered a 10-8 decision in the third set of his match at No. 6.

The Spartans travel to preseason Commonwealth favorite Albright (9-4) on Saturday for a conference match at noon.
