Paolucci, DelVecchio Earn All-Conference Honors at MAC Wrestling Championship

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The York men's wrestling team finished seventh out of seven teams with two all-conference performers and five total place winners at the 2025 Middle Atlantic Conference Wrestling Championship hosted by King's College on Saturday.

No. 6 Alvernia claimed the team title, their first in program history, with 159 points. Messiah took second (124 pts.), followed by No. 18 Stevens (115.5 pts.), Delaware Valley (64 pts.), King's (60.5 pts.), Misericordia (56.5 pts.) and York (41.5 pts.).

Freshman Vincent Paolucci led the way for York as he captured the 133-pound title to earn first team All-MAC honors. Junior Jacob DelVecchio earned third team All-MAC honors after finishing third in the 125-pound bracket. Three other Spartans landed on the podium which included sophomore Logan Barkey at 133 lbs. (4th), freshman Jacob Grzybek at 141 lbs. (4th) and sophomore Jacob Kresicki at 125 lbs. (5th).

Paolucci is the first freshman in program history to capture a MAC title and is the 17th different Spartan to win a conference championship. He also joined his older brother Nick as an All-MAC performer (Nick earned second team honors last season). The Spartan program now has 25 individual conference titles which includes four as members of the MAC and 21 as members of the Metro Conference.

Paolucci went 3-0 on the day with a decision and two major decisions as he improved to 17-7 overall this season. He is now a two-time tournament place winner this season after finishing fourth at the New Standard Invitational.

DelVecchio went 3-1 on the day to capture third place and All-MAC honors at 125 lbs. The junior battled back from a loss to No. 12 Malik Asfour (Del Val) in the semifinals and won two more matches to clinch all-conference status. DelVecchio is now 16-7 overall this season.

The Spartans will return to the mats next Saturday at the Ken Ober Memorial Tournament hosted by Elizabethtown College.
