Box Score READING, PA – The York College women's tennis squad dropped a tough 6-3 decision to Albright College on Wednesday afternoon in Reading.
The Spartans fall to 2-8 overall and 1-1 in the MAC Commonwealth. The Lions improve to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the league.
The Lions captured two of the three doubles points go jump out to an early 2-1 lead. The Spartans' lone doubles win came from
Hannah Sult and
Maddi Haggerty as they combined to win their second doubles match, 8-5.
The Spartans picked up wins at the second and third singles matches but it wouldn't be enough as the Lions won at first, fourth, fifth and sixth singles to secure the league win. Sult earned York's second singles win with a 0-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory.
Bri Serruto outlasted Elicia Aponte 7-5, 1-6, 10-6 in the third singles contest.
The Spartans return to action on Friday when they travel to Westminster, Maryland to face off against McDaniel College in a non-conference match. The match is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
