Spartan Men Fall in Close Contest with Washington

YORK, Pa. - The Spartan men's swimming team suffered their first loss of the season in a narrow 133.5-128.5 defeat to Washington (Md.) at home on Saturday morning. The Shoremen improve to 5-4 on the season and the Spartans are now 4-1.

York compiled 17 individual top-three finishes with six first-place performances and won both relay events on the day.

Bryan Collins paced the Spartans with three wins on the day as he touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle.

Will McDermott racked up a pair of wins in the 500 freestyle and 1000 freestyle.

Brenden Stuhltrager nabbed first in the 100 butterfly and finished third in the 200 butterfly.

Liam Perrin racked up second-place finishes in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.

Copper Stiles also collected a trio of top-three finishes with silver in the 200 IM to go along with third-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
