FREDERICK, MD – The York College women's swim team picked up their first dual meet win of the year as they downed Hood College 131-90 on Saturday in Frederick, Maryland.
The Spartans improve to 1-5 while the Blazers are now 1-5 as well.
The Green and White got seven individual wins during the meeting including three from sophomore Isabella Klemm. Klemm won the 50 free with a time of 25.70, the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:07.25 and the 100 IM as she touched the wall in a time of 1:03.54. Her time in the 100 IM is the top mark in the Middle Atlantic Conference so far this year. Klemm now has a team-leading 15 individual wins midway through the season.
Fellow sophomore Camden Perella also had a strong meet as she won the 200 free and the 100 free on Saturday. Perella's time in the 200 victory was 2:08.40 while her 100 free time was 59.02. Perella also earned a second in the 50 free for York.
Senior Araby Marston captured victory in the 50 breaststroke as she completed the race in a time of 33.52. Marston also finished second in the 100 breaststroke for York. Kendra WInkleblech was the fourth Spartan to earn an individual win as she was victorious in the 500 free with a time of 5:48.28. Winkleblech also finished second in the 100 fly during Saturday's meet.
Mikaela Wovna recorded a trio of second place finishes as she was runner up in the 50 back, the 100 back and the 50 fly.
Sarah McShane earned a trio of third place finishes while Regan Hyder and Gabrielle Haring also recorded third place finishes for the Green and White.
