Box Score ASHLAND, VA – The York College men's tennis team opened spring portion of their schedule with an 8-1 road loss at Randolph-Macon on Saturday in Ashland, Virginia.
The Spartans fall to 2-4 with the loss while the Yellow Jackets improve to 2-1.
Randolph-Macon took the lead in doubles as they swept the three matches. York's number duo of
Tej Laliwala and
Ben Dorsey kept it close in their match, falling 8-6 to their Yellow Jacket counterparts.
The Spartans lone win came off the racquet of freshman
Jason Lutz as he outlasted Randolph-Macon's Max Presley 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 in the fifth singles match. The other five singles matches were all decided by straight sets in favor of the Yellow Jackets.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday when they square off against Lancaster Bible at the Hempfield Racquet Club in Lancaster. The match is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
