WILKES-BARRE, PA – The York College women's tennis team completed their stay at the 2021 Middle Atlantic Conference Individual championships on Sunday in Wilkes-Barre.
The Spartans had a strong Saturday showing as they advanced two doubles teams and two individuals to the semifinal rounds on Sunday. Unfortunately for York, each Spartan fell in the semifinal round of the tournament.

First Doubles
The Spartans' first doubles team of
Elsa Oestermarker and
Lauren Ostermann face off against Dasha Yakhnis and Zoe Klein from Wilkes. Yakhnis and Klein downed the Spartan duo 8-2.

Second Doubles
The Spartan tandem of
Brianna Rohrer and
Morrissey Walsh had advanced to the semifinals with an upset of the top seeded team of Alexa Cieri and Cassidy Greenman from Wilkes on Saturday. They saw their run come to a close as they fell to the Lebanon Valley duo of Madison Poladian and Eliana Shenk 8-5 in the semifinals.

Second Singles
Senior
Lauren Ostermann had a good Saturday with a pair of wins to advance to the semifinals. She ran into Misericordia's Emily Brecker in the semifinals and Brecker moved on with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Brecker earned the second singles championship with a 6-2, 6-2 win over top seeded Audrey Heaberlin from Stevens.

Third Singles
Senior
Brianna Rohrer had picked up a pair of straight set wins on Saturday to move on to the semifinals. Her reward was a match against top-seeded Alexis Fuda from Stevens. Fuda posted a 6-1, 6-0 win to advance to the championship match. Fuda would go on to defeat Wilkes' Cassidy Greeman 6-2, 6-3 to earn the third singles championship.

The Spartans move on to the remainder of their 2021 fall schedule with four non-conference contests with two home matches and two road matches. York will host Rutgers-Camden on Sunday morning, September 19. The match is slated for an 11:00 am start at the Spartan Tennis Centre.
