ANNVILLE, PA – The York College men's tennis team saw their 2021 campaign come to an end as the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen beat the Spartans 5-0 in the quarterfinal round of the MAC Commonwealth tournament.
The Spartans end their campaign with a mark of 1-8 while LVC heads to the semifinals with a record of 7-2.
Lebanon Valley captured the three doubles points. Ben Hinkley and Luke Senft edged the Spartan duo of Tej Laliwala and Jack Leinbach 8-5 in first doubles match. William Harriger and Jeffrey Bauer downed Michael Spagnoli and Matthew Christian 8-3 in the second doubles match. Jonathan Yenser and Brendan Byler downed Scott Miller and Camden Kosovac 8-2 in the third doubles match.
In the MAC Tournament, the teams play to decision so the Dutchmen just needed to win two singles matches to conclude the match. Bauer earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the third singles match and Yenser picked up a 6-1, 6-0 sixth singles win to close out the match.
The Dutchmen advance to the semifinals where they will travel to Messiah to take on the Falcons in the semifinals on Wednesday.
