YORK, PA – The York College women's tennis team picked up a big 5-4 MAC Commonwealth victory over Lebanon Valley on an overcast Monday afternoon in York.
The Spartans improve to 5-1 overall and remain unblemished in the Commonwealth at 3-0. The Flying Dutchmen suffered their first loss of the year as they fall to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the league.
Doubles
The Spartans captured victory in two out of the three doubles matches. Michaela Sentz and Chloe Doyle combined to post an exciting 8-6 win over the LVC second doubles duo of Meredith Haas and Madison Poladian. The Spartans third doubles tandem of Brianna Rohrer and Morrissey Walsh cruised to an 8-3 victory over Meridyth Sanders and Emily Wilczek as York led 2-1 heading to singles play.
Singles
The Spartans got the three singles wins they needed as Elsa Oestermarker, Lauren Ostermann, and Brianna Rohrer each earned a win.
Oestermarker outlasted Nicolee Honrade in the first singles match up, 6-3, 6-7, 10-8. Ostermann scored a straight sets 6-2, 6-4 third singles win over Meredith Haas. Rohrer closed out the win with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 victory over Madison Poladain in the fourth singles match up.

Elsa Oestermarker and Brianna Rohrer each improved to 5-1 in singles play for the Green and White as the are each riding a three-match win streak … The Spartans are a cumulative 24-11 in singles play in 2021 … the Spartans are 13-4 in singles play in MAC competition with three of those four losses coming today against LVC … Oestermarker and Lauren Ostermann suffered their first doubles loss of the year as they are now 5-1 overeall … Rohrer and Morrissey Walsh are now 4-1 in doubles play for York.
