YORK, Pa. - The York College women's tennis team is off to a 2-0 start to MAC Commonwealth play following a 6-1 victory at Hood on Saturday.

Doubles Play
The Spartans began the match by sweeping both doubles matches on the day. Elsa Oestermarker and Lauren Ostermann kept their unblemished record in tact with an 8-4 victory at the No. 1 flight. Brianna Rohrer and Morrissey Walsh picked up their third win together on an 8-3 victory at the No. 2 flight.
Oestermarker and Ostermann lead the team with a 5-0 record while Rohrer and Walsh are now 3-1 on the season.
Singles Play
York found continued success as the dual moved to singles play as the Spartans posted victories in four of the fives matches played on the day.
Oestermarker racked up a straight-set victory at the No. 1 flight as she advances to a 4-1 record on the season.
Rohrer also won in straight-sets at the No. 3 flight. The junior is now tied with Oestermarker for the team as she also sits at 4-1.
Walsh made quick work at the No. 4 flight as she only surrendered three games in a straight-set victory as she improves to 3-1 on the season.
Emily Louie picked up her second win of the season as she came out on top in three sets at the No. 5 flight.
