Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The York College women's soccer team saw their regular season come to a close with a tight 2-1 loss at the University of Mary Washington on a rainy Wednesday in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The loss leaves the Spartans as the fourth seed in the upcoming Capital Athletic Conference tournament while the win allows Mary Washington to take the three seed.

How It Happened:
• The Eagles found the back of the net early to open the scoring. Brielle Mitchell hit a shot into the upper right 90 in the 17th minute to put UMW on top. The goal was Mitchell's team leading sixth of the year. The Eagles continued on the offensive as they had another four shots before the Spartans finally were able to counter with a Rachel Wilhelm shot in the 41st minute.
• The Eagles outshot York 6-3 in the first half with each team notching a pair of shots on goal. UMW had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes of play.
• The Spartans netted the equalizer at just over ten minutes into the second half as the Spartans drew a corner kick. Jenna Cholowinski hit the corner into the box and senior Natalie McCarthy drilled the cross bar with a shot. The ball caromed to Wilhelm who finished off the shot to knot the score at one. The goal was Wilhelm's second of the year.
• It wouldn't take the Eagles long to answer as Michaela O'Fallon hit a long through ball to Brooke Bauman who beat Cat McCarty for the go-ahead goal in the 60th minute of play. The goal was Bauman's third of the year and her first game-winning goal.
• York was able to get a pair of shots on goal in the final 25 minutes of regulation but Eagle goalie Allison Nork would make Bauman's goal stand up.
• York outshot the Eagles 5-4 in the second half including 3-1 in shots on goal.
