GETTYSBURG, PA – The Gettysburg College Bullets women's tennis team downed the York College Spartans 8-1 in a non-conference contest on Monday afternoon in Gettysburg. The Bullets improve to 5-4 overall while the Spartans have now lost three straight as they sit at 4-4 for the season.

The Bullets swept the three doubles points but the matches were all close. Gettysburg won the first and second doubles by identical 8-5 scores. The Bullets then swept the third doubles point with an 8-6 win.

York's lone win came from junior standout Katie Wagner as she outlasted Maria Martinovic 6-7, 6-4, 12-11 in the first doubles match. That is Wagner's fifth win of the year as she now has 27 career wins as she is approaching the school record for career victories.

Freshman Maisie Supp played well in the fourth singles match despite dropping a 7-6 (7-5) 7-5 decision to Samantha Boardman.

The Spartans conclude their three match road trip on Wednesday with a trip to Goucher College. The match from Towson will begin at 3:30 pm.
