SALISBURY, MD – The York College men's tennis squad concluded a tough weekend road trip with an 8-1 Capital Athletic Conference loss at Salisbury University on Sunday afternoon in Salisbury, Maryland.
Salisbury improved to 13-4 overall and to 3-1 in the CAC. The Sea Gulls are ranked #18 in the region. York falls to 1-6 overall as they have lost six straight. The Spartans are now 0-3 in the conference.
The Sea Gulls won all three doubles points to take command of the match early. The Spartans third doubles team of Lukas Olson and Joel Hess played well as they pushed the Salisbury duo of Grant Hudson and Garrett Malave to an 8-6 final score.
The Spartans lone win of the day came from Hess as he notched a 6-1, 1-6, 10-8 victory at sixth singles. Hess improves to 4-1 overall in singles play this spring.
The Spartans continue their busy week with a trip to Gettysburg for a non-conference contest on Monday afternoon. The match is slated for a 3:30 pm start.
