The Spartans had five different swimmers earn six first place finishes … junior Maddy Mann picked up where she left off last year with a first and two second place finishes … Mann paced the Spartans last year with 19 individual wins and seven second place finishes … senior Rachel Spaulding earned her first win of the year in the 200 IM … the other four Spartan winners were freshman all competing in their first meet … Justine Wantz made her collegiate debut a successful one as she picked up a pair of backstroke wins as she was victorious in the 50 and 100 backstroke races … the Spartans racked up 17 individual top three finishes and 13 of those finishes came from their freshman class … it's the second straight season that the Spartans have gotten off to a 2-0 start ... the Spartans set a pair of school records as Justine Wantz set a new school record in the 100 backstroke and the 200 medley relay team also set a new school standard.
