Spartans Fall to Harrisburg in Regular Season Finale

MIDDLETOWN, PA – The York College men's tennis team dropped a tough 5-4 setback to PSU Harrisburg in their final match of the 2015 regular season on Tuesday afternoon in Middletown.

The Lions improve to 7-6 overall and 4-3 in the CAC while the Spartans fall to 10-6 overall and 3-4 in the league.

The Lions captured two of three doubles points with both Harrisburg wins coming by scores of 8-6. The Spartan tandem of Jake Greenstein (Morris Plains, N.J./Parsippany Hills) and Matt Rosenkrantz (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) blanked Brandon Wolf and Tyler Cook 8-0 in the second doubles match.

The Lions earned straight set wins at the first and second singles before Rosenkrantz earned a 6-1, 6-4 win over Mitchell Ebersole in the third singles match.

The Lions' Tyler Cook notched a three-set fourth singles win. Daniel Erk (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) earned a come-from-behind three set win in the fifth singles while Devin Lehigh (York, Pa./Central York) posted a 7-5, 6-4 sixth singles win.

The two teams will now square off in the opening round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday morning in Middletown. The match is slated for an 11:00 am start.
