CARLISLE, Pa. – The York College women's swimming team suffered a 121-78 defeat at Dickinson College on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Kacey Banks (Silver Spring, Md. / Spencerville Adventist Academy) captured the team's lone individual victory on the day for both the women's and men's teams as she won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:21.09.

The Spartans (2-6) started off with a second place finish in the 400 medley relay as the foursome of Julia Bogdanski (South Setauket, N.Y. / Ward Meville), Samantha Hay (Bangor, Pa. / Bangor), Banks and Danielle Werner (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton) put together a time of 4:26.42.

In the 1000 yard freestyle, Brianna Blackwell (Chandler, Ariz. / Hamilton) took third with a time of 11:43.90, Madison Tonkay (Landisville, Pa. / Hempfield) placed fourth with a time of 12:22.80 and Alex Bowman (Laurel, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) placed fifth with a time of 13:17.88.

Freshman Andrea Sturgis (Severn, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) was the top Spartan performer in the 200 yard freestyle with a third place finish at 2:06.47. Sturgis also placed third in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:42.83

Werner performed well in the 50 yard freestyle with a second place finish at a time of 27.29.

Freshman Maddy Mann (Baltimore, Md. / Eastern Technical) captured a pair of second place finishes on the day with times of 2:19.03 in the 200 yard IM and 55.67 in the 100 yard freestyle.
