YORK, PA – The York College men's tennis team
dropped an 8-1 non-conference decision to Dickinson College on
Monday afternoon in York. The Spartans fall to 6-7 overall while
the Red Devils improve to 7-6 for the 2010 season.
The Red Devils captured all three doubles points as the closest
match was the second doubles won by Matt Wood and Andrew Kastner
8-4.
In singles play, the Red Devils rolled to a trio of straight set
wins in the first three singles flights. The Spartans' lone
win came from Travis Klein (East Stroundsburg, Pa./Pocono
Mountain East) as he posted a three set win, besting
Dickinson's Bo Marshall 1-6, 6-2, 10-6.
Dickinson won the final two singles flights in straight sets to
conclude the victory.
The Spartans continue their busy week on Tuesday when they host
Stevenson University in a Capital Athletic Conference contest. The
match is slated for a 3:30 pm start.
