SALISBURY, MD-The York College women's tennis squad
suffered a 9-0 shutout loss to Salisbury University in Capital
Athletic Conference action on Wednesday in Salisbury, MD. The Sea
Gulls improve to 10-7 overall and 6-1 in the CAC while the Spartans
fall to 5-4 in a 1-4 in the conference.
Salisbury swept the three doubles matches by a combined score
of 24-2 with the third doubles team of Meghan Bedard (Easton,
PA/Wilson Area) and Kristin Frederick (Woodstock, CT/Woodstock
Academy) notching York's lone two doubles points.
The Sea Gulls won all six singles matches in straight sets.
Freshman Megan Logan (West Chester, PA/West Chester East) scored
the most points in her loss as she fell 6-2, 6-4 in her sixth
singles match against Kelly Fahrner.
The Spartans return to action on Sunday when they face
McDaniel and St. Mary's in a tri-match. The action kicks off
at 9:00 am.
