HILTON HEAD, SC-The York College men's
tennis team closed out their 2007 spring trip to Hilton Head, SC
with a rain-shortened 5-0 victory over Adrian College on Thursday
afternoon. The Spartans, winners of three straight, improve to 3-2
overall while the Bulldogs fall to 0-6 for the campaign.
Sophomore Tim Mowrer (Gordonville, PA/ Pequea
Valley) cruised to 6-2, 6-1 win at first singles. Senior Dave
Tabachnik (Manalapan, NJ/ Manalapan) earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory over
Danny Krsteski in the second singles match. Sophomore Josh Kulp
(Souderton, PA/ Home schooled) improved to 5-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 win
at third doubles while sophomore Joel Trimmer (Hanover, PA/
Hanover) rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 win in the fourth singles match-up.
Senior Brian Wiesemann (Leonardtown, MD/ Leonardtown) completed the
singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 win in the fifth singles flight.
The sixth singles match and the three doubles
matches were washed out by rain before they could be completed.
The Spartans return to York on Thursday, March 8
when they host Shenandoah University in a non-conference match. The
action kicks off at 2:00 pm at the Spartan Tennis Center.
