Kyle Walthall Named the Spartan Athlete of the Week for November 3

YORK, PA - York College is proud to announce that junior swimmer Kyle Walthall (Port Hueneme, Calif./Rio Mesa) has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 2.

Walthall had a fantastic weekend for the Spartans as he piled up four individual wins in two Spartan meets. He began the weekend with wins in the 100 and 200 breaststroke in the Spartan loss to Mary Washington. Walthall notched a time of 57.84 in the 100 win as he captured the victory by just under four seconds. He won the 200 in a time of 2:07.30 as he won the race by almost eight seconds. He was also a part of the 200 medley relay team that finished second in the event.

On Saturday in the Spartans' win over Salisbury, Walthall didn't swim his feature races but still managed to capture a pair of wins. He won the 200 IM in a time of 2:02.71. Walthall earned his second win for the day in the 500 free as he cruised to an easy win, completing the race in a time of 5:03.57. Walthall was also a member of the winning 400 medley relay squad.

Walthall is a sport management major and is the son of Bill and Lisa Walthall.
