YORK, Pa. - York College is proud to announce that junior Kyle Walthall (Port Hueneme, Calif. / Rio Mesa) is the Spartan Athlete of the Week for the week ending on February 22.

Walthall competed at the CAC Championships this past weekend where he won two individual championships, was a part of five school records, two CAC records, two meet records, and he also established three NCAA provisional cut times.

Walthall won the 100-yard breaststroke on Saturday for the second year in a row as he posted a time of 55.54. He posted a preliminary time of 55.42 that broke his own school, conference and meet record, in addition to being an NCAA B-Cut time.

On Sunday, Walthall concluded the championship weekend with another title, this time in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:00.17. He once again broke his school, conference and meet record from the year before, in addition to establishing another NCAA-B-Cut time of 1:59.82 in the prelims. His preliminary time is currently the fifth fastest time in the country.
