YORK, Pa. – The York College women's cross country team put together a strong finish and came out on top at the Rich Achtzehn Classic at John Rudy Park. The Spartans finished first with 28 points over Franklin & Marshall, Virginia Wesleyan and McDaniel.
The Green and White's first finisher of the day was Misty Parshall (Dover, Pa./Homeschooled) in third place with a time of 25:09.48. Coming in right behind Parshall was fellow Spartan Jessica Miller (Dauphin, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) with a time of 25:10.96. A pack of Spartans finished sixth, seventh and eighth. Tuesday Wilson (York, Pa./ Eastern York) crossed the line with a time of 25:29.42. Next was Caroline DeLany (Federick, Md./Tuscarora) at 25:31.79 and Nicole Danielewicz (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy) finished at 25:31.85. Also scoring points for York were Jenna Roberts (Stewartstown, Pa./Kennard-Dale) in 14th place with a time of 26:40.42 and Rachel Berninger (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) in 16th place with a time of 26:48.26.
"The girls ran a strong and fast race," said head coach Erick Camodeca. "I am really proud of what they were all able to go out and do today."
The Spartans return to action on Saturday September 22 at the Frostburg St. Invitational. The invitational is set to start at 10:30 am.
