Spartans Collect USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors

YORK, Pa. – The York College women's cross country squad garnered 2011 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors for their success in the classroom during the past fall.

As a team, the Spartans put together an outstanding 3.43 grade point average during the fall semester. According to the USTFCCCA, in order to qualify for this honor, "the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better." The Spartans were one of 187 schools to have garnered the accoldde

Spartan head coach Erick Camodeca is pleased that his women's squad received this honor.

"Just as with the men's team, it is impressive to see what our women where able to accomplish," Camodeca said.

The Spartans finished third overall at the annual Capital Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships before taking 14th at the NCAA Mideast Regionals.
