Spartans Take Third at Coach Achtzehn Classic

York, Pa. – The York College women’s cross country squad opened the 2010 home season at Coach Achtzehn Classic held at John Rudy County Park in York, on Saturday.

The Spartans finished the 5,000-meter course with 74 points to finish third out of ten teams.

Senior Mandy Parshall had another great performance in just her first season with the Spartan cross country program. She finished seventh overall with a time of 20:38 as Parshall led the Spartan squad for the second week in a row.

Senior Melody Parshall came in 11th for the Green and White with a time of 20:46. Sophomore Tuesday Wilson’s 21:00 secured her 16th place finish.

Junior Corie Thompson crossed the finish line with a time of 21:30 finishing in 22nd place overall.

Next up for the Spartans, the Green and White travel to the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University on Saturday, October 2. Start time is slated for 10:00 a.m.
