TOWSON, MD – The York College
women’s cross-country team posted a fourth-place finish at
the Goucher Classic Saturday afternoon. The Spartans placed two
runners in the top-15 and registered an average time of
28:02.10.
Melody Parshall’s (Dover, Pa./Homeschooled)
25:30.36 was the Spartans’ top time of the day, as she
grabbed ninth overall. Corie Thompson (Ambler,
Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) finished just two slots behind
Parshall, crossing the line in eleventh-place with a time of
25:47.77.
Liz Dende (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and
Laura Colantuono (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley)
finished back-to-back in 41st and 42nd, clocking times of 28:56.07
and 29:02.17, respectively.
Claudia Hess (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) posted a
time of 30:52.09 to round out the Spartan finishers.
York will return to action in two weeks on Saturday, October 18.
The green and white will travel to Gettysburg, Pa. for the
Gettysburg Invitational, which is slated to begin at 11:00 am.
