Sue DuMars enters her 17th season looking to lead a youthful squad into the upper echelon of the Capital Athletic Conference. The Spartans have fashioned a mark of 119-84 over the last six seasons including 2007’s stellar 30-6 record and 2010's 27-6 mark.

DuMars, a three-time CAC Coach-of-the-Year, earned the 2003 Capital Athletic Conference Coach-of-the-Year as she led the Spartans to a 26-11 record and an appearance in the CAC championship game as the Spartans finished tied for first in the CAC. DuMars picked up her 200th career win on October 28, 2006 when the Spartans downed Moravian College 3-2. DuMars guided the Spartans to 19 wins in 2008 with just one senior on her squad. The 2009 squad finished with 18 wins as the youthful squad gained valuable experience in playing a number of tightly contested matches.

DuMars ranks first on the all-time Spartan coaching wins list with 310 victories in her 15 seasons at the helm of the program. She surpassed Don Stabler’s school record of 90 wins on September 22, 2001, when the Spartans defeated St. Mary’s College. She picked up her 300th career win on September 14, 2011 when the Spartans blanked Hood 3-0 in a Capital Athletic Conference match. DuMars owns an overall record of 319-252.

DuMars has recruited and coached 23 All-Capital Athletic Conference players including two-time CAC Player-of-the-Year Kerry Casperson. Casperson is just one of two CAC, two-time Player-of-the-Year in any sport in York College history. The Spartans have seven 20-plus win seasons under the guidance of DuMars.

In addition to her duties on the floor, DuMars works with fundraising and marketing for the Spartan athletic department.

DuMars resides in York with her husband, Steve, and their four children, Nick, Luke, Jake, and Georgia.
