Women's Track and Field Hits High Marks in Final Tune-Up Before CAC Championships

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The York College women's track and field team picked up some momentum heading into next weekend's Capital Athletic Conference Championships following a strong showing at the Paul Kaiser Track and Field Classic at Shippensburg University on Saturday.

Multiple Spartans recorded personal records and conference qualifications in the 5000m run. Kasey Fogelsanger (Owings Mills, Md. / Mercy) led York with a seventh place finish and a time of 19:09.04. Jenna Roberts (Stewartstown, Pa. / Kennard-Dale) placed 12th with a time of 19:27.54 and Emily Abell (Timonium, Md. / Dulaney) also earned a spot in the CAC Championships with a time of 20:03.55.

More Spartans produced personal-bests in the mid-distance events. Caroline DeLany (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) earned her way to the conference championship meet with a 10th place finish in the 1500m run with a personal record time of 4:58.57. Shannon Kuseryk (Ewing, N.J. / Ewing) set a new personal-best in the 800m with a time of 2:28.80 and Emily Plante (Goffstown, N.H. / Goffstown) also set a personal record in the 800m with a time of 2:39.17.

Emily Cronise (Boonsboro, Md. / Boonsboro) set a personal record in the 400m dash with an 18th place finish at a time of 1:02.99.

Amanda Mackey (Whiteford, Md. / North Harford) set a personal record in the javelin and moves inside the top-10 in the conference with a throw of 27.67 meters.

The Spartans will return to competition at the 2015 Capital Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships on May 2 hosted by York.
