MILLERSVILLE, PA – The York College women's track and field squad finished 16th of 26 teams at the Millersville Metric Meet hosted by Millersville University.
The Spartans had a number of good performances on the very windy day in Millersville.
Junior Jess Miller (Dauphin, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) had the best individual performance as she placed fourth in the 5K race. Miller notched a time of 18:55.51. Teammate Jenna Roberts (Stewartstown, Pa./Kennard-Dale) recorded a personal best time of 19:49.74 in the race as she placed 15th. Stephanie Bower (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) also notched a PR in the 5K with a time of 20:21.70.
Freshman Emily Cronise (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro) continues to perform well for the Spartans as she finished sixth in the 1,500-meter race as she clocked in with a time of 4:59.42.
In the 10,000-meter run, Danielle Jarsocrak (Sinking Springs, Pa./Conrad Weiser) posted an eighth place finish as she recorded a time of 44:08.60.
The Spartans' 4x800 relay team consisting of Cronise, Shannon Kuseryk (Ewing, N.J./Ewing), Caroline DeLany (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora), and Miller earned a third place finish as they combined to post a time of 10:26.50.
York's 4x100 relay squad posted a seventh place finish in their event as the foursome of Dana Mangano (Westminster, Md./Westminster), Bria Jones (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford), Bethany Miller (York, Pa./York Suburban), and Courtney Rice (Frederick, Md./Urbana) recorded a time of 52.45.
In the long jump, Mangano posted a 12th place finish with a best leap of 4.93 meters.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday when they travel to Baltimore, Maryland to participate in the Johns Hopkins/Loyola University Invitational.
