BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The York College women's track and field team had a strong day at the Greyhound Invitational at Moravian College. Jess Miller (Dauphin, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) had a peak performance and set a new school record in the 5,000-meter race.
Miller finished the 5K in 18:26.38 to beat the record of 18:46.44, set in 2011. Nicole Danielewicz (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy) also had a really strong race. She finished in 18:49.38 for 13th place.
In the 100-meter dash, Bria Jones (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) looked solid with an eighth place finish and recorded a time of 13.16.
Cutting 50 seconds off of her 3,000-meter steeplechase was Jenna Roberts (Stewartstowns, Pa./Kennard-Dale). Roberts recorded a 12:05.70 and finished in seventh place.
Laura Rowlands (Dover, Pa./Dover) looked to beg getting back into form with a sixth place finish in the triple jump. Rowlands recorded a jump of 11.00 meters.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday for the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. The meet begins at 10:00 am and runs through Saturday.
