Spartans Compete at Messiah Quad

GRANTHAM, Pa. – The York College women's track & field squad sent a group of student-athletes to the Messiah Quad on Wednesday. The Spartans, limited by sheer numbers, took third of the four teams in attendance, registering 23 points.

Sophomore Dana Mangano had a quality performance for the Green and White. She captured first in the triple jump with a solid result of 31' 7.5" while snagging third in the long jump.

In that long jump event, freshman teammate Laura Rowlands posted the victory with a jump of 15' 6.75".

On the track, Chitom Henry competed in a both the 400- and 100-hurdle events where she took third and fifth, respectively.

Racing in a pair of unfamiliar events, the 100- and 200-meter dashes, senior Allyson Montello put together a quality showing. She collected third in the 100 while recording fifth in the 200.

York's 4x400 crew posted a runner-up spot in the event.

The Spartans are slated to host the Green & White Invitational this Saturday. The action from York's Graham Field is scheduled for a 10:00 am start.
