ANNVILLE, Pa. – The York College women's track & field team sent a division of Spartans to the Lebanon Valley Invitational on Friday in Annville, Pa. The Green and White registered a pair of first-place finishes while taking second in five events.
Sophomore thrower Katie Shinn captured one of York's first-place finishes as she won the hammer throw with a launch of 95'6".
Kenyatta Redman, a Spartan rookie, snagged the triumph in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.45. Redman also took second in the 100 meters with a 13.15.
Fellow freshman sprinter Donteris Spence collected a runner-up time in the 200 with a 28.21 while she registered a 13.21 in the 100 to place third.
Spartan newcomer Meaghan Jackson picked up a pair of second-place results for the Green and White, supplying those in vastly different events. Jackson posted second in the 100 hurdles while also secured the #2 spot in the shot put.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday, March 19, as they travel to West Chester University. There, the Green and White are set to compete in the West Chester Golden Ram Invitational, which is slated for an 11:00 am start.
