Spartan Women Fall at Catholic

WASHINGTON, DC – The York College women's tennis squad dropped a 6-3 non-conference decision to Catholic University on Saturday in Washington, DC.

The Spartans fall to 1-2 overall while the Cardinals improve to 4-1.

Catholic captured two of the three doubles points with York's Emily Price (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) and Megan Jones (Felton, Pa./Red Lion) winning the second doubles match 8-4.

The Cardinals won four of the six singles matches. York's two victories came from Price in the second singles match and freshman Mckenzie Krout (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) in the sixth singles match. Price won her match 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) while Krout was victorious 3-6, 6-1, 10-6.

The Spartans return to action on Saturday, October 5 when they travel to Ursinus to close out their fall campaign. The match is slated for a 2:30 pm start.
