Women's Tennis Drops CAC Match against SMC

YORK, PA – The York College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 Capital Athletic Conference decision to St. Mary's College on a sun-splashed Sunday afternoon in York.

The Spartans fall to 4-10 overall and 2-2 in the CAC while the Seahawks improve to 12-7 overall and 3-0 in the CAC.

The Seahawks swept the three doubles matches to seize control the contest early.

St. Mary's notched victories in the first three singles matches before Emily Price (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) spoiled the Seahawks shutout bid with a 6-4, 7-6 (4) win in the fourth singles match.

St. Mary's closed out the match with wins in the fifth and sixth singles matches.

The Spartans close out their home schedule on Saturday, April 13 when they host Mary Washington in a CAC contest. The match is slated for a 4:00 pm contest.
