Women's Tennis Cruises Past Wesley in CAC Play

DOVER, DEL – The York College women's tennis team won their second straight match with a 9-0 victory over Wesley College in a Capital Athletic Conference match on Wednesday in Dover, Delaware.

The Spartans improve to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in the CAC while the Wolverines are now 0-2 overall and in the conference.

York captured both of the contested doubles matches. Nikki Olson (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and Emily Price (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) combined to post an 8-1 first doubles win. Megan McCullin (New Windsor, Md./Westminster Senior) and Emily Skutnik (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) teamed up to record an 8-1 second double victory.

McCullin opened the singles portion of the match with a 6-4, 6-0 first singles win. Olson recorded a 6-1, 6-2 second singles victory followed by a 6-0, 6-0 Price victory in the third flight.

Skutnik cruised to an 8-0 fourth singles win while Megan Jones (Felton, Pa./Red Lion) finished the match with a 6-0, 6-0 fifth singles win.

The Spartans return to action on April 5 when they travel to Gettysburg to face the Bullets in a non-conference contest. The match is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
