LVC Trumps Spartans in Thursday Match in Annville

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The York College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat to Lebanon Valley Thursday afternoon in Annville. With the loss, the Spartans fall to 2-4 on the season while the Flying Dutchmen improve to 7-3.

In doubles, Arcondia Vlahos and Nicole Olson pushed Lauren Fulmer and Mary Kate Lemon but fell 8-5 in the second slot. Newcomers Emily Price and Emily Skutnik also captured five games in their third doubles match, the first time this year the pair has combined in doubles.

LVC swept the Green and White in singles play as each match went two sets.

Despite the difficult result, freshman Kacie Weatherhead did experience her first singles match in York's top spot. Skutnik also participated her first collegiate singles match.

The Spartans return to action on Friday, March 23, as they host Albright in a 3:00 pm non-conference tilt.
