OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The York College women's tennis team brought their two-match skid to a screeching halt on Thursday with a 7-2 triumph over Stevenson in Capital Athletic Conference action. With the win the Spartans improve to 9-6 overall and 4-2 in league play while the Mustangs fall to 6-11 and 1-6 in the CAC.
The Green and White snagged two of their six points in doubles play as York's #1 and #3 pairings posted victories. In the top spot, Katelyn Acker and Sarah Wargo collected a solid 8-2 triumph while Stephanie Nelson and Nicole Olson also won 8-2 and improve to 3-1 together on the year.
York would go on to take five points in singles play.
Freshman Wargo won for the eighth time this season, posting the victory in first singles. She led 6-1, 4-1 before her opponent retired in the second set. Wargo eclipses the .500 mark as she is now 8-7 as a rookie with all 15 of her singles matches coming in the top spot.
Megan McCullin proved victorious in third singles with a straight-set 6-3, 6-2 win while Arconida Vlahos secured fourth singles, 6-1, 6-0. Vlahos' straight-set triumph pulls her to .500 as she sports a 7-7 mark as a rookie.

In the sixth slot, Olson collected a straight-set 6-4, 6-1 win to grab the point for the Green and White.
York is slated to return to action on Friday, April 15, as they travel to Hood. The Spartans' final CAC regular season match of the season is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm.
