COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The York College women's swim team closed out their regular season with a 118-67 loss at Ursinus College on Saturday afternoon in Collegeville, PA.
The Spartans conclude the season with a mark of 5-8 while Ursinus improves to 8-0 on the campaign.
York had two individual first place finishes and one relay win while they received three other second place finishes.
Junior Lindsey Buglino (Wharton, N.J./Jefferson) had a big day for the Spartans. She won the 500 free in a time of 5:29.68, good for a 17 second victory. Buglino also notched a second place finish in the 400 IM, touching the wall in a time of 4:56.79.
Senior Kelsie Pike (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) picked up York's other individual win as she completed the 200 breast stroke in a time of 2:40.79.
The Spartans' foursome of Casenya Stone (Annandale, Va./The New School of Northern Virginia), Courtney Dacheux (Dover, Pa./Dover), Sammy Greenwald (Germantown, Md./Northwest), and Madison Tonkay (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) combined to win the 400 freestyle relay as they recorded a time of 3:55.43 in the event.
In addition to Buglino's second place finish in the 400 IM, Stone notched a runner-up finish in the 50 free with a time of 25.91. Dacheux also picked up a second place finish in the 100 free with a time of 57.15.
The Spartans return to the pool on Friday, February 21 when they travel to the Capital Athletic Conference championships hosted by St. Mary's College. The three-day championships kick off Friday morning and conclude on Sunday, February 23.
