YORK, Pa. – The York College women's swim team fell to Ursinus 146-103 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon in York.
With the loss the Spartans now carry a 5-7 overall record.
The Green and White struggled to keep up with a speedy Ursinus squad.
Sophomore Casenya Stone (Annandale, Va./The New School Of Northern Virginia) had the best performance for the Spartans. She earned a first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.72 and then recorded a third place finish in the 100 yard freestyle, swimming 58.57.
Also earning a first place finish was sophomore Courtney Dacheux (Dover, Pa./Dover) in the 100 yard breaststroke. Dacheux touched the wall in 1:14.20 for the victory. Teammate Kelsie Pike (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) finished the race in 1:18.83 to take third.
Pike also swam well in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly with two second places finishes. She recorded a time of 1:09.80 in the 100 yard and 2:50.11 in the 200 yard.
Senior Chelsea Ross (Paoli, Pa./PA Cyber) picked up second and third place finishes. She took second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:22.62 and then third in the 200 yard freestyle, finishing in 2:06.03.
Lindsey Buglino (Wharton, N.J./Jefferson) recorded two third place finishes in the 100 yard butterfly and the 200 yard IM. In the butterfly, Buglino came in right behind Pike with a time of 1:10.92 and finished the 200 yard IM in 2:27.67.
In distance, junior Jenny Hinkle (Olney, Md./Sherwood) finished the 1000 yard freestyle in second place, swimming 11:42.88.
The Spartans return to action on Monday, January 14 as they travel to take on Rowan at 6:00 pm.
