Spartans Drop Three During Saturday Quad

YORK, Pa. – The York College women's swimming team competed against St. Mary's University, Susquehanna University and Dickinson College on Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans fell in all three scored matchups. They lost to St. Mary's 159-44, to Susquehanna 146.5-56, and to Dickinson 143-60. 

Senior Chelsea Ross (Paoli, Pa./PA Cyber) and freshman Casenya Stone (Annandale, Va./The New School of Northern Virginia) lead the way for the Spartans with strong races.

Stone was impressive in the 50 yard freestyle. She captured a second place finish with a time of 26.03. Later in the day Stone put together a quality race in the 100 yard freestyle recording a fourth place finish and a time of 57.82.

Ross recorded a fourth place finish in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:20.45. She also swam the 200 yard freestyle in 2:03.81 for a fifth place finish.

Both Ross and Stone were also a part of the 400 yard Medley Relay that place fifth and recorded a time of 4:25.51. Lindsey Buglino (Wharton, N.J./Jefferson) and Kelsie Pike (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) rounded out the relay team.

In the distance races junior Jenny Hinkle (Olney, Md./Sherwood) finished the day with two seventh place finishes in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle.

The Spartans return to action on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm when they host Washington & Jefferson.
