YORK, Pa. – The York College wrestling program will have three wrestlers competing at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships which will be held on March 11-12 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Junior Ryan Flynn (Eagleville, Pa. / Marple Newtown) (133 lbs.), freshman Greg Warner (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) (141 lbs.) and senior Mike Spencer (Pompton Plains, N.J. / Pequannock Township) (285 lbs.) will compete for a spot on the eight-man podium in each of their respected weight classes for the right to be named an NCAA All-American. Each weight class consists of an 18-man bracket set up in a double-elimination format with one national champion crowned in each weight class.

Action will get underway at 12:00 p.m. in Session I on Friday with preliminary rounds one and two, followed by consolation round one. Session II on Friday will start at 7:00 p.m. with the championship quarterfinals, followed by consolation rounds two and three. Session III will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with championship semifinals and consolation quarterfinals, followed by consolation semifinals, then consolation place matches for third, fifth and seventh places. Session IV will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and will only consist of the 10 championship final matches.
Junior Ryan Flynn will be making his second-straight appearance at the NCAA Championships as he once again earned a berth as the Mideast Region Champion at 133 pounds. The junior gained valuable experience last season at the national level and will be looking to make his a 0-2 performance last year a distant memory. Flynn enters a record of 29-7 with two pin falls, six technical falls, a team-high eight major decisions and 11 wins by decision. Flynn will be looking to record his secon-consecutive 30-win season as currently has 90 career wins.
Senior Mike Spencer will be making his first appearance at the NCAA Championships as he earned his first-ever berth by placing third at 285 at the Mideast Regional Championships. Spencer has compiled a record of 29-7 this season with a team-leading 19 pin falls to go with one major decision and six wins by decision. The senior will be looking to record his second-straight 30-win season as he sits on 105 career wins.
